Evanston, Wy to Golden, Co
Yesterday was the opposite of Day Two. We made good time, we stopped at (almost) all the right places and it seemed easy!
We got up early and packed up. Tanner found us a café, which seemed like the only café in Evanston, and as we gassed up we noticed it was right across the street. Breakfast was at Jody’s Café. Tanner got a ton of food, instead of toast they offered him biscuits and gravy on the side.
We drove and drove. Southern Wyoming is beautiful, but pretty much the same view all day. We were down to one lane here and there, nothing to major.
Tanner says the days are already all blending together.
We did stop in Laramie for a quick lunch, we still are eating fruit that Tanner’s parents packed us. I called and left a message for my Aunt Dena, who lives on the other side of Wyoming. I wished we could have visited her. Tanner also bought a host gift for our friends, liquor is a really good deal in Wyoming, and practically no sales tax!

Trying to take photos of different little things, we stopped in a little town in central Wyoming to get gas.
We did have a little traffic in Fort Collins and then in Denver, but not too bad. We ended up in Golden, Co with Nate, Kelly and their son Donovan. Tanner has known Nate since birth. We haven’t been able to see them much over the years, so Tanner was feeling a bit awkward. We had so much fun!

They cooked us buffalo steaks, grilled corn, and potato salad. We had local Colorado beer. Then there were grilled peaches and ice cream for dessert. We drank the whisky Tanner bought them. Then we were talking about local distilleries, so we also tried some local Absinthe that they had. Nate’s parents kept sending us text messages, asking for photos. Tanner and Nate talked about engineering some, we learned a lot about Golden, caught up on the last few years. It was a really fun night.
Tanner and I did not get drink too much, but it was close.
