There are so many things I have been meaning to take photos of, but have not.
So this entry is more a tease of things to come.
One are food photos. I think our first Friday here we walked to Comfort. Tanner had dinner at this restaurant when he visited Richmond. He had a good experience, so he wanted to take me. He chose it the first time around because it has so many whiskey choices it has a whiskey menu. They serve southern comfort food, but a little upscale. I liked it. We tried to save money by just getting drinks and appetizers. Not sure it helped that much, it is a little pricey.

Watermelon gazpacho, cheese and meat plate, fried green tomatoes and pork belly sliders. The fried green tomatoes were the best we have had yet. The tomatoes were tart and just right.

Pork belly sliders. Really yummy. That is a huge cut of pork belly! It was so tender and pretty flavorful

Home cure ham, crackers, homemade crostini, pickled onions, some kind of watermelon rind goo (we didn't like that) , farmers cheese, pimento cheese and blue berry bacon jam, the jam was amazing!
This past weekend we went to IKEA! It did not break us up. We decided we needed a real bed. Our mattress and box spring have been on the floor for years. Tanner did reserach online, adn we went to a furniture store here to look first. I think that saved us. Tanner was pretty focused, and we decided on some things we liked.
We got one! That was the first piece of furniture we have purchased together. I can't post pictures of it put together, because the bedroom is so messy still with unpacking. The bed has drawers underneath, so we will have more storage, and finish unpacking, so that is awesome.
Ikea is in Potomic Mills, which is basically a southern suburb of Washington D.C. So it was an hour and a half drive. So while we were up that way we thought we would see Tanner's friend Evan. Turns out he lives on the other side of the city in Maryland. So it was almost another hour of driving.
We had lunch and frozen yogurt and chatted for hours. Got to see the downtown Silver Springs, Maryland. We both have never been in that state before! It was a really nice day.
And we have been trying to keep track of things we have never had before. We had buttermilk pie, which is just sugar and cream I think? It was okay. Tanner liked it a lot.
Also Yuengling beer. Tanner was so upset and confused. Since it is American's oldest brewery, he wanted to know why it sounds Chinese. The founder was German, and it would probably be spelled today Jungling, with an umlaut.

Todd and Megan live right by Potomac Mills! You'll have to give them a ring next time you hit up Ikea ;-)
