We drove up to Woodbridge, VA for Thanksgiving to spend the day with Todd, Meghan, their kids, Stephanie, Andy and a few friends. We had a really good day, no stress, good food, fun kids.
Andy and Tanner both brought whiskey
The weather was beautiful! Andy playing with Jack. Jack would not finish him off, so the game went on and on.
It was amazing to sit in the sun on Thanksgiving! Virginia has had a really warm fall and winter so far.
The turkey was really good! Apparently we forgot to take any photos of the rest of the spread, oh well. It was all really yummy.
Emily set up a jar of candy, we all got to guess how many were in the jar. Tanner won! He got a lovely illustration and three pieces of candy.
Three way Skype with Tanner's sister's family and his parents.
Tanner took videos of this game! We have not uploaded them anywhere, but I am sure they will be fun to show later at family gatherings. It was hilarious. Almost all the adults got pied.
The boys made a cloud chamber (wikipedia has a good summary of what they are https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_chamber). They basically hung out in the garage, trying to get it to work for two hours. Tanner bought and took apart a smoke detector, so they had a source of radiation.
It did eventually work, the "clouds" were really faint little sparkles. And were not something they could get a picture of.

The day after we stayed for breakfast and then drove up to Maryland to see Evan, a friend from Seattle. We didn't take any pictures. We had snacks at a little cafe by his house. And then hung out at his apartment with his cat Tommy, we used to cat sit her, so it was really nice to see her again.
It was a long drive home from all the way up in Maryland, but it was uneventful. We mostly lounged around on Saturday and Sunday.
Craig was actually more affectionate the first few days after we got back. We were sort of expecting him to just eat his food and ignore us, or be mad at us. So that was a nice surprise.
