DAVE FIVE - EPCOT

Epcot was our longest day. Whew.

We got up early and got there before 8 a.m. We bought tickets the day of and got in line. When we got in line there were maybe 40 people, so we were nice and early. I had copied down a touring plan from a good website that Tanner's auntie Julie had shared with us. So the first few hours we powered through a ton of rides in the first half of the park. We did Mission Space the intense version, it was awesome! Tanner got motion sick, but I loved it! That was a first. We also did Test Track, which we both loved. We did Livin' with the Land, Journey to Imagination with Figment (could have skipped that), Finding Nemo ride. They were all okay. The greenhouse was just as awesome as Tanner remembered. Captain EO was better then I expected, that is a 3D movie with Michael Jackson, that first appeared the year I was born. We went back and did Soarin'. We liked it, but weren't really sure why it was the MOST popular ride in the park.

Tanner loved The Seas. We saw real manatees! Disney works with Florida Fish and Wildlife, they take in injured manatees, and when they are healthy return them to the wild. They were beautiful and silly. They also had exotic fish, like eels and seahorses.

The whole day we saw the amazing flower beds and topiary that are part of the Home and Garden Show going on now at Epcot. They were amazing! I loved taking photos of the topiary. They also had a lovely butterfly garden, which was open to the air! It wasn't enclosed like it would have to be in Seattle, because it is almost warm enough. Wow.

We really liked the Cool Club, by Coca Cola. We tried a few kinds of Coke products from around the world. Tanner loved the Mexican one.

We waited too long to have lunch and were starving! We headed over to the World Showcase. We ate in France. We had an almond croissant, and quiche. It was so delicious. We saw most of the showcases, some in more detail then others. I found the most awesome souvenir in Japan. It is a cell phone charm with Hello Kitty dressed up as an alligator holding a Florida license plate. China was pretty, it made me tear up a little. I really want to go back.

We had dinner in Morocco. We were both a bit disappointed. It did taste good, and probably authentic. But the flavors were all pretty weak. And while the restaurant was beautiful, it was really loud.

We stayed for Illuminations, which was cheesy and nice.

Then we got home and were exhausted and went to bed.

We just remembered we have to check out in an hour, and we aren't ready yet. So I will do more from the airport maybe, or the internet bar later. We have lots more things to share!
