FRIZZY IN FLORIDA

Preparation

Only 4 more days until we leave for Florida.

Tanner and I are both very excited to take a vacation. Our feelings about this specific vacation have become conflicted. The shuttle launch was delayed, after we did a lot of work to get tickets. Tanner was very, very disappointed. We started researching all our options. We are staying a time share that Tanner's parents booked for us with their points. We can't change the booking. Also, our airline charges a fee to change your flight, and the difference between your old flight and new flight. So changing our vacation to go see the launch would involve a paying for a hotel, changing our flight, and not staying in Florida as long. I just can't afford that.

So we end up feeling frustrated. We should have made plans that were more flexible. Looking back now we wish we had done things differently. But we just didn't know. This is the first trip we planned together, and it was fairly last minute to begin with. We only started thinking about it in February. Getting over our disappointment is a struggle. We also ended up bickering and stressing each other out. We deal differently with surprises and challenges.

So what are we doing right now in preparation for our trip?

We just booked our kayaking tour with Central Florida Nature Adventures LLC. http://www.kayakcentralflorida.com/ Tanner and I are excited about this day. We wanted to do something  near Orlando. Central Florida is beautiful, and very different from the Northwest. It's warm and slightly tropical. Central Florida has a variety of different habitats. There are lakes, swamps, the Ocala National Forest, pastures for cattle grazing, fruit orchards, and natural springs. It is also close to two different coasts, as well as coastal lagoons and island environments. There were a ton of options for outdoor adventures, we chose this company because they do guided kayak tours. So while we paddle along they will describe the flora and fauna. We both love learning, and it will be really nice knowing what we are looking at all around us.

I also just read this article. http://www.wesh.com/r/27456150/detail.html They are having a little measles problem in central Florida. Ugh. Tanner and I have both been immunized, so it should be fine.
