Christmas Road Trip!

I did a really terrible job taking photos on this trip! Sorry! I can't rely on Tanner, he takes good photos when the mood strikes, but it is usually something random and not really relevant to our day to day life. We have a TON of photos of Craig though.

We had to drive to the airport and pick up the rental car. Tanner asked if they had an upgrade, so they gave us one for free! We got a Nissan Altima. New model year than this, we didn't take a photo of the car, so I got this one from the internet.

We got up before 6 am, but Tanner still took a long time, he moves slow in the morning. We were on the road about 6:30 am. I drove for the first three hours while Tanner napped. That was so awesome! My lower back hurts and makes it tough to drive, but the rental car had good seats, so I was really happy to help with the driving.

Welcome to North Carolina

Welcome to South Carolina

Welcome to Georgia

This says Sweet Home Alabama, but it obviously turned out dark. When we drove back in to Alabama from Mississippi my Aunt Kate told us a lot of people stop and take photos under the sign on the side of the highway

Took a photo of Tanner napping

We drove for about 14 hours. It was a good drive, everything went smoothly. No traffic, even in Atlanta. We had music on our Mp3 players. We ate leftovers from our great Christmas Eve dinner, so we had that for lunch. And candy Rhea sent to us.

Atlanta! It was sprawling. High rises spread out in different parts of the city. So many lanes!!! They have horrible traffic even though at times the highway had six lanes in each direction.

KIA had a ginormous factory in South Carolina. The photo doesn't do it justice. The water tower also said KIA, they have their own water tower for the factory!

There was not much to see on the way down. The highway was pretty in Virginia and North Carolina. Good trees. Later in South Carolina and Georgia it was mostly small towns and suburbs, not much to see.

This is the part where I was terrible! My Aunt's house looked beautiful, she put up Christmas decorations all over inside, she had pine boughs and lights on the outside of the house. She made us cheesy grits with pork and roasted Brussels sprouts for dinner.

I don't have photos of any of that! Sad. I don't have a picture of me and  my Aunt either.

Aunt Kate and Cousin Tim got us Christmas presents. How sweet! This is my new little bag! It also had some nice fabric in it.

No pictures of the grits. But Aunt Kate made us all breakfast the next day. Christmas ham! With toast and fried eggs.

Here is a cute photo of me and my Aunt from a few years ago.
